Before:

• Making highly specialised medical equipment which involved glueing rubber lining materials onto plastic.

• Had tested various glueing processes which were not working without plasma.

• Zero tolerance for failure in the final product and the current process could not meet the (nearly) 100% yield requirements. 

• The assembly process for devices was not working and needed to install a plasma solution.

After: 

• Achieved very close to 100% yield target.

• Fully functioning and qualified assembly process, including plasma.

• Able to move forward into mass production of devices and the next stage of trials.

 

The Process:

1. Evaluation study to prove the recipe and treatment. This took more than a year of testing and trials to achieve the right recipe.

2. Delivered and installed a batch plasma cleaning system which was sufficient for customers' small volume of production.
