What is Bias Voltage?
Bias voltage refers to an electrical potential applied to a substrate to control ion bombardment during plasma processing. By adjusting the bias voltage, operators can influence the energy and direction of ions striking the surface, thereby modifying etching rates, improving film adhesion, or controlling surface roughness. This technique is widely used in semiconductor fabrication and coatings.
