What is Afterglow?
Afterglow refers to the phase following plasma extinguishment where reactive species, such as ions and radicals, persist and continue to interact with surfaces. This residual activity plays a significant role in surface modifications and chemical reactions, even after the plasma source is turned off. In industrial applications, afterglow effects can be harnessed for gentle surface treatments, reducing damage to delicate materials.
